So The Mandela Effect Is: In the old Rock’em Sock’em Robots Commercial – What Did the Losing Kid Say in the End?
If you have been researching the Mandela Effect for any length of time, I am going to guess that chances are some effects have “affected” you more profoundly than others.
While some can just be easily shrugged off because you can’t say for sure if something has changed or not, there are also some that you would be willing to bet money on because you don’t have a single doubt about the way it “used” to be.
Well, believe it or not, this Mandela Effect about two silly little boxing robots is one of the ones I would have put my life savings down on.
Growing up as a kid in the 70’s (before cable) meant you literally watched a cartoon, a television show and yes, even a commercial, SO many times that you actually memorized every word without even being aware of it.
That is why with this Mandela Effect I didn’t even have to give anyone in my age group a choice between two options. All I had to ask them is “What does the kid say at the end of the old Rock’em Sock’em Robots commercial?”
The response? “Hey! You knocked my Block off!”
I asked 6 people in my age group this question. They ALL responded the SAME exact way! With absolutely no hesitation and not so much as a hint or clue from me. Out the answer came as if they had just watched the commercial yesterday.
That is why this particular effect has me so stunned. Now I realize that 6 people may not seem like a huge number. I also realize that there are far more “important” or “impactful” Mandela Effect changes like the Mona Lisa smile or The Thinker when compared to a simple toy commercial.
But the fact that 6 people literally gave the SAME exact WRONG answer, without hesitation no less, has proven to me that the Mandela Effect is not just my imagination.
The words have now changed from “Hey! You knocked my block off” to “Awww, my block is knocked off!”
THAT IS NOT THE WAY IT WAS!
Now this might not seem like such a big deal to anyone from younger generations, but I can guarantee that just about anyone in my age group will be blown away by this one.
Here is a youtube video showing the original commercial from the 1970s.
This video was uploaded to Youtube by FuzzyMemories.TV – January 25, 2015 and has been viewed over 40,000 times which means it is not recently uploaded.
However, it definitely appears as if the video has been tampered with. The question is: by whom and when?
At the exact time the old line was supposed to have been said you can actually see that it turns black & white for a second and that someone has messed with it.
The questions again though are by whom and when?

They both contain what I guess was supposed to be the products “tag line”. But I know, as well as the other people I have asked, that this was NOT the tagline used in the 70s commercial we all grew up with and memorized!!
The version WE heard was “You knocked my block off!”
I personally have no idea what to make of this one. If it was someone who recently changed it for fun… well I have to admit…you got me.
And ….as Forrest Gump would say….
That’s all I have to say about that.
